How to create VPN/PPTP server on Mikrotik RouterOS.

Dear Blog reader today I'm going to setup VPN/PPTP server for Mikrotik RouterOS. Its very easy to set it up. Just follow below tutorial.

Logical Diagram for this tutorial.

Step1:
Go the IP>Pool>
Give Pool for your VPN server IP address list. See below

Step 2:
Now Click on PPP> Interface>PPTP server>
Now check Enable to enable the server

Step 3:
Go to profile>
Name:- Give name
Local Address:- choose what you name while creating POOL
Remote Address:- Same as Pool name
DNS:- Give free or given by your ISP

Step 4:
Click on Secrets>
Name:- This is a username to login to VPN server
Password:- Password for your username
Profile:- What you create previous in VPN profile.

Now your VPN server is ready to login. If your VPN profile need to internet access then add to NAT under firewall

Go the firewall>NAT and add your IP address then masquerade VPN server IP address.

General>Chain>srcnat>src Address>10.10.10.0/29>Out Interface>WAN1>action>masquerade

Powerpoint Problem on Linux

I like Some features of Microsoft office, so I install office 2007 into kali linux. Everything work perfect but when I try to run power-point, it never run. Then I search for fixed and found one solution. This trick has been posted in ubuntuforum and works perfect to me.

Step 1. Got the Application>System tool>Wine configuration

Setp 2. Under Library tab Add these two overrides "riched20" and "usp10".

Setp 3. Apply and ok.

Now you can run the power-point with out error.

Install MS office Kali Linux

Dear reader, you may think Why I install MS office rather than LibreOffice because I really like some feature on MS Office. Lets start to install MS office in Kali Linux or any other linux distro. For this I'm going to use wine.

In this blog post I install MS Office under kali linux, kali linux have wine installed by default. If you are going to install MS Office other than Kali Linux you may have to install WINE first.

Insert your MS Office disk into DVD drive or mount your image under any linux. After that just open setup.exe with wine.

Now your setup is began. Then you can type your product key.

Chose your installation option.

Finally you got install MS Office under linux distro.

Keep Home Network Safe

We all wants our home network protect form adult contain. YouTube also contain full of adult materials. So here I'm going to discuss about protecting our home from adult contain material. For this I'm going to use k9 web protection tool. Lets began the protection.

Step 1.
Free Download K9 web protection From here

Step 2.
Choose "Get K9 Free for your Home" with your email address for free license.

Step 3.
Install K9 web protection software. At the end it will ask for reboot, do it.

Step 4.
After reboot open the "Blue coat K9 Web protection Admin"

Step 5.
Click Setup, it will ask for admin password, choose your admin password. (don't forget it, need it for future)

Step 6.
In my case I choose "Default" setting. This will block YouTube also. You can choose what you desire.

These days YouTube also contain full of adult material, if you want to block YouTube leave default setting as is it or want to block social site choose "High" option above it.

To open YouTube and block adult contain only, displaying by the site.

Step 7.
Go to other setting then choose "Advance YouTube Filtering"

Now your home network is secure from adult materilas. You need to install this tool for every computer in your home. If you want different solution. Wait for my another blog post where I discuss different method for parent control.
